Sweet 16

After stroking each day off on the calendar all month, the long-awaited birthday arrived. Shrimp, chicken, herb-baked potatoes, Caesar salad, and a Ponderosa cake to finish it off. (It's a banana cake with cinnamon, brown sugar and chocolate chips sprinkled in the middle of the batter and on top. VERY good.)

Even after he and Peter had consumed a whole pound of shrimp, and there were two helpings of dinner, he still was the first one done his large size dessert.

Peter even did the dishes for him because it was his birthday. Sheesh. That, and Season 4 of Big Bang, going off to see a play with Drama class tomorrow (Romeo and Juliet done from the slant of the families being Palestinian-Israeli- I want to come along to see that!) and lovely cards'0'cash from caring relatives have made this a pretty great birthday- except that I'm a mean Mumma and am making him finish the homework due at 9 am before he's allowed to go out.
There are limits to indulgences, and he is NOT a morning person. Consider it another gift.
