Coconuts.

Mason has been asking for a coconut for some time now, and when I saw one in the store last week, I thought I'd give him one as a reward for getting through all four of his exams and his drama monologue this week.

Since he's starting a Cabinetry Course on Monday he thought it might
be good to practice with a power tool again.

Both forward and reverse.

Evan and his friend looked on in rapt fascination.

Then, the handsaw....the hard work it took to get into this nut
made me wonder who was the first person to think that there would
be something good to eat inside....and how did they get in?

Peter took a turn with the saw. Of course, the main reason we were so careful was because we wanted to cut them nicely so we could play with them in the fashion of Monty Python's "Search For the Holy Grail". There was much clattering around with them after.

Today Peter is baking up a storm as he agreed to provide the baking for a coffee house at PVBC for next weekend, on the condition that Tobin would come pick all of it up and take it back to camp so we wouldn't have to drive it out. He has about four kinds of cookies to send along, and next Saturday morning will make pans of brownies (best fresh).

After cleaning house, doing laundry and errands, I am ready to sit back and enjoy the books and relax for the rest of the weekend.

I hope you're enjoying this, our last weekend of January!
(And there was much rejoicing, "Yay".)
